Hey guys,
This is going to be a short one, I dont have much time... So, the past two weeks i have had classes. The first week was orientation and survivor camp, then one pastor came from Argentina and another this week from the States. The Argentinian pastor was great, he spoke on God´s calling and how we are to respond to that, he then followed those points up with how you should be spiritually and emotionally serving God. He spoke on integrity, and many other topics. We get about 25 hrs of class time a week and its been good. God is helping me with patience issues, not having control, just having to go with the flow, its a little rough coming from being on my own for the past 5 or 6 yrs. I´m down about 10 to 15 lbs since i last updated my blog, I think the bible should be translated man can not live on rice alone... lol, its funny but true. No really I love it here, I´ve been able to do some soul searching and Im definetely going to be ready when it comes time for outreach. Mosquitos are bad here, it was on the news, swarms came in and they´ve been here for a while now. I´m going down river tomorrow to have lunch with the fanily of one of the students here, 40 minutes rowing down the Amazon and back 40... Literally sounds like a blast, as long as I bring pepto bismol... and deet. 100% anyhing else just upsets them and they bite more... Ive been named alltime goalie here, I love it and Im actually pretty good. That and all the running they don´t want me to do, maybe play defense, bt with the heat, humidity, and all, running in the states is a breeze... Not a hugely indepth one, but Im informing yall what´s going on. I love and miss everyone of you and I pray everyone of you has a blessed week and is a blessing to someone else this week.
Love,
George Palmer

first week¡¡¡
Hey guys,
So, first week was intense. I arrived in Iquitos on saturday night and it has been a week and a day. I am doing a DTS program through YWAM, its a 6 month school, 3 months in the class room learning what it is to be a missionary and 3 months of hands on work in the feild to see if being a missionary is legit or not. I´ve gotten to know a lot of the people here and they are all awesome. The first three days we all had classes and orientation. Still adjusting to living in a different country and everyone realizing that we all are in a constant state of sweating... I´ve learned to love rice... and more rice... So by wednesday I started to get into a routine of what is going on with schedule etc... Well thursday held a surprise that impacted me more than I would´ve ever expected. Thursday at 9:00 they had us pack a bag a little smaller than a walmart sack and it had to be for a retreat, that was all the info we were given. So being in the jungle and all i brought 100% deet and toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, two pairs of socks, three pair of underwear, and two shirts. We were able to bring a sleeping bag and water bottle seperate of tiny bag... We loaded up on a bus and headed into the jungle... we arived and we were given food, a machete, a shovel, cookwear, plates and utensils. our leader took us deeper into the jungle and we had there 3 2x4x12, 10 2x10x12, and a bunch of jungle looking 4x4x4´s a big tarp, a bag of nails, a hammer, and 6 mosquito nets. there were 10 of us in our team. At first I hated it. I was hotter than I had ever been, even with 100% deet, i was being eaten alive by mosquitos, i was soaked from sweat like three hours into it. I lead the construction of the tent, and it was water/bug proof... one thing that night as we all piled into it, one of our team members from Holland yelled out. Hey guys we built a sauna... Hip Hip Haroo!!! It was hilarious. I was so frustrated. I wasn´t in control of anything, whatever the school staff had planned i had to do and they didn´t tell us. needless to say i was taken out of my comfort zone. Our team lost every single competition there was. I´m a competitive person who HATES losing. Needless to say I have lost every competition we have had since the school has started and with the extremes of the environment, the lack of control of what´s going on, being stung by an amazonian wasp in the eye, eaten alive by mosquitos and bugs ive never seen before, some character issues started boiling up to the surface. I turned into a jerk to my teamates, or so I did in my head. I realized I have major pride issues and in some ways that stops me from being tought. I´m being refined by fire, or worse, survivor camp... I´m growing and learning and this is just the first week. I´m excited and ready for anything. Have a great week guys and I´ll update next week!

Hello Yall,
Man there is so much to update you guys on. I arrived in Iquitos last night at 800 and wow, I was in the jungle. We got off the plane via stairs, the smell was like none I´ve smelled, not bad, just different. It was pitch black minus the random lights around. and the lights that were around had so many flying insects around them!!! It was strange, there are ver few cars here, all mototaxies. and they drive like a kid on their 21st birthday... I´m so glad I arrived here, I love it. There are too many words describe all that I´m experiencing\taking in. I´ve met the majority of the ppl in the school and they are great. I gave someone directions in spanish and he understood what i was saying, this will be the beginning of many updates on spanish... I start te actual DTS En la maƱana !!!

First Update
Hello All,
I am writing in an internet/phone place, from Bogota, Columbia. I have used my spanish to get around and havent spoken a word of English. Id like yall to know this is not a normal American keyboard so if there are no apostraphes/other things missing, Im not illiterate, this keyboard is just weird! I tried tuesday, wednesday, and thursday getting a flight out on standby. Its the start of the Peruvian school year therefore I wouldnt have been able to get to Lima until wednesday. then to Iquitos by thursday. God is so good though, He provided Dick Hyslop who had a hotel in Miami for the week. That had an all you can eat breakfast and dinner. Praise God for that!!! Cesar and I had a lot of time to bond and get to know one another. we spent the three days together in Miami, he spent four!!! I was able to witness to a guy and from that I was able to pray over 4 other people and one was brought to tears by the joy of the Lord. It was incredible. Thank you everyone who has supported me up until this point, my parents and family for sticking it out with me over the years. what an adventure its been!!! And for the people who beleived in me up until this point, financially throught this trip, prayerfully (the most important) and just being a part of my life. Thank you. I wasnt able to get ahold of my Uncle Scott and Aunt Barb, THank You both so much... I love witnessing to people and from what I saw from last night, i ministered to 5 spanish speaking people. Yes Miamis two languages are Spanish and spanglish. Its official. My time is running out. I love all of you so much and next time you will hear from me it will be in Iquitos, Peru!!!

I'm back!!!
Hello All,
I'm Back!!! I wrote only a handful of blog posts last year and I'm ready to get back at this again. So a whole lot has changed in my life over the past two and a half years. Actually my whole life has changed, for the better, all through and for God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. I started out the blog last April, excited about the freedom and joy I was experiencing in the Lord. All the awesome experiences I had and have with Jesus, his power, in this awesome race. The joy and freedom 9 months later is incredible as well. The level or depth of my relationship with Jesus gets bigger and better. Jesus is my best friend. I now know that every human, weather friend of family will in due time, let me down. Its human nature, I've let people down and people have let me down. That's why I have learned over the years to put my value and security in Jesus Christ alone. All other stuff is imitation crap that leads to nothing if not worse. Not saying family and friends are that, but hopefully you catch my drift. Tomorrow or my next post should have more structure or order, but for now be blessed everyone.

So High - In Padre
Sooo, I was sort of a trouble maker growing up, no I was, and my mom packed me a large suitcase and told me I was going to summer camp with the youth group. I was bummed out at first, I sort of ditched the whole church thing and had my own thing going ( working out and when I could getting high), but when I thought about it more how bad could a week on the beach be, even with a church group... So 9 crazy long hours we arrive to Padre, the trip down there was epic. I wont go into detail, just a bunch of goons wired and amped for the beach. I thought some of the people were soooo lame, the first couple hours I wished I had some bud, but then I started talking to people and realized they were pretty normal. The first night we had our first meeting, the excitement in the room was intense. People screeming, Oscar making jokes, it was actually pretty awesome. The speaker got up and did his thing. Let me tell u what, I think EVERY person on the planet should listen to what this guy has to say. Its not him saying it though, its the Holy Spirit pouring out of him and piercing the hearts of the audience. The holy spirit pierced my heart that night, not through the speaker, but through worship. We had worship for about 30-45 minutes and for the first 25 minutes I was wierded out. I didnt want to be into the whole closing eyes, raising hands, I had to be a tough guy, thats how I was gonna get the lady's. Well that idea didn't last long, I started talking to God, why not, it wasn't like I was at a church camp or something... I asked Him to let me experience Him like these people were, with passion and abandon. He met me word for word. I started singing after that prayer and it was like a wave of joy hit me like a mac truck. I started singing louder to God for letting me experience this joy I'd never felt before. Pure raw joy, joy that's not from this world. Joy that changed my life forever. I had heard of Jesus and asked him into my heart in the seventh grade and sort of left it at that. I got baptized my freshman year in confirmation and for the first time I truly felt God. That week changed my life, forever. There are two songs that are ingrained into my mind and one of the songs the chorus goes like this So hear my spirit groan in me, a painful sense of urgency to tell you that you are to me, So High. It was the third day we were there, it was a work day, we had worship that night and I was bellowing this song, like I said when God got ahold of me the impressing girls thing was like third priority... Anywho, I was bellowing this song and I had a vision as I had my eyes closed and hands in the air. It was the most beautiful picture I've ever seen, cause it was like live, it was Jesus and I holding each other and we were walking up a hill. The other song was Speechless, and one of the lines in the song goes like this, I was your wondering son, I squandered everything u gave to me, I stood far off and thought, that you wouldn't want anything to do with me. But you were waiting for me, said there's nothing to prove, and I am speechless. And from then on I was sold out for Christ. For him to let me experience him in that way was totally awesome. Words can't describe how I felt, and the change was real. I got home, my friend owed me a G, I told him to keep it, I'm done and they were actually arrested for possession two weeks later...

Game Day
Its 10th grade, I play football for Jasper High School in Good Ol' Plano, and we're playing Shepton, its 2nd period. I write on the grease board, SHEPTON SUCKS in my canine science class. I am so pumped up, Im on edge the whole day. I have a knot in my stomach right before lunch, no wait, that's just straight up hunger. I'm walking the halls after lunch and I was big man of campus, the excitement of the big game is overwhelming, so much that I didn't pay a bit of attention in one class. The bell rang, schools out, I go to subway, gameday tradition and get a footlong and then a 6inch. 3 hrs before gametime... I am soooo pumped up. I got my CD player on, haha, Ipods weren't even heard of then... I'm listening to three doors down, system of a down, and drowning pool, all types of blood pumping music, I was raging by this time. its a bout an hr and a half before gametime and I just cant wait to rip one of the soon to be Plano West kids heads clear off. Words, especially mine cant capture the excitement that I experienced that day, and many days like it. I feel the same way if not even more excited about the holiday that celebrates my Lord and Savior rising from the dead after dying on the cross for the whole worlds sin. I am a christian, I go to a church, I have a relationship with my creator. Only because HE rose from the dead. There is no religion called Christianity without Jesus Christ rising from the dead. No christian church, no nothing, just a crazy guy who died on a cross like so many in history. So today at work I listined to some Hillsong United, Third Day, and many other christian bands thanks to Pandora, and was getting so pumped up. Getting so excited. Telling other people to have a great Easter. I wanted to write SATAN SUCKS somewhere but that's childish and Jesus' already took care of that... Tomorrow is Game Day Christians. The day we celebrate our savior rising from the dead and kicking satan's (&#. Get excited people we have that same power that raised Christ from the dead to do mighty things for Him who created us. Its GameDay!!!
Later yall.
Later yall.
